pleutonic said: To be honest, I'm from Ukraine. And I know that the USSR was an awful time for my parents, grandparents, and everyone who had to work all day, only to have everything taken away. It was a horrible life, and due to the economy/ lack of product availability, they grew up without properly-fitting clothing, shoes, and had to travel for hours and stand in huge lines all day just to get bread, toilet paper, etc. Yet despite all of this, your blog still reminds me of childhood things/ makes me smile!c;

Thank you, I’m glad it does. I believe it’s important to remember everything, the bad and the good.

(And please be safe over there!)

About:

All things Soviet (1922—1991): photography, objects, songs, movies, persons.

I'll collect Soviet memorabilia here that I like and that gives that special nostalgic feeling for the "good old times". I'm Russian and I was born in the USSR, so some of it carries a special meaning for me, they are things I remember, bits of my childhood. Earlier eras also fascinate me big time. I want to capture daily life of ordinary people in the big country rather than its political and military history. Life that is still remembered and missed by many.
